Application Lab Specialist – Surface Treatment

About the role

The Application Lab Specialist will join Surventis’ Surface Treatment team in Jackson, Michigan. This position focuses on the chemical treatment and testing of metal surfaces, supporting customers across automotive, aerospace, aluminum finishing and metal forming markets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments to develop and optimise surface‑treatment processes.
• Test metal samples for corrosion resistance, coating adhesion and formability.
• Collaborate with customers to translate their requirements into tailored technology solutions.
• Document test results, generate technical reports and support scale‑up activities.
• Maintain lab equipment, ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on laboratory experience with metal surface treatments.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret test data.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
