Apartment Service Technician (HVAC/EPA Certified)

About the role

Morguard, a real estate company investing in multifamily assets across North America, is hiring an experienced Apartment Maintenance Technician in Aurora. You will resolve work orders, complete preventative maintenance and support daily onsite operations under the direction of the Lead Maintenance Technician and Community Manager. The position is full time, Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour off for lunch.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the root cause of each work order and close it out, helping residents' homes
• Walk the property each day and clear trash or debris
• Turn vacant units around and prepare them for new residents
• Respond to work orders and general maintenance promptly, communicating with the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor on special projects and routine maintenance
• Follow company operating and safety policies and comply with fair housing laws

Required profile

• HVAC Type I and Type II / EPA Universal certification required
• Previous experience closing work orders and turning apartments in a luxury apartment community is ideal
• Ability to respond to after-hours or weekend emergencies; on-call rotation with a weekly stipend
• High school graduate; technical school preferred but not required

Required skills

• General knowledge or experience of plumbing, drywall repair, painting, carpentry, appliance repair, pressure cleaning or minor electrical troubleshooting
• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Pay of $25-$26 per hour, up to 40 hours per week
