Anesthesia Technician (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesiologists by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, medications, and supplies. This full‑time position is based in the University of Miami Health System and involves direct interaction with patients and clinical teams.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, organize and maintain the anesthesia workroom, supplies and equipment.
• Set up, test and service patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after procedures.
• Prepare and stock anesthesia medications, ensuring age‑specific considerations are met.
• Wash, sterilize and inspect reusable equipment, reporting any malfunction.
• Document preventive maintenance and quality records.
• Assist with patient and specimen transport.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, meetings and in‑service training.
• Follow university and unit policies, safety, infection‑control and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum two years of experience as an anesthesia or medical equipment technician.
• Relevant certifications as required by the department.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
