Anesthesia Technician – Full Time

About the role

The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesiologists by preparing equipment, medications, and supplies for surgical cases. This full‑time position is based in the University of Miami Health System and involves maintaining a safe, sterile environment for patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, organize, and maintain the anesthesia workroom, supplies, and equipment.
• Prepare and service patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after procedures.
• Consider age‑specific requirements to meet the needs of diverse patient groups.
• Uphold quality‑improvement, safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.
• Document preventative maintenance and quality records.
• Assist with transport of patients and laboratory specimens.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, meetings, and in‑service training.
• Report malfunctioning equipment and safeguard university assets.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Applicable certification as defined by the department.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
