Android Engineer

About the role

Whatnot is building the largest live shopping platform in North America and Europe. As an Android Engineer you will create high‑quality mobile experiences that connect buyers and sellers across a fast‑growing marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Android features and systems using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend and other mobile engineers to define goals, scope and technical trade‑offs.
• Contribute to shared mobile infrastructure, architecture and best practices across the organization.
• Focus on performance, reliability, scalability and user experience in every delivery.
• Maintain engineering excellence through code reviews, documentation and technical discussions.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality code at scale.
• Willingness to work from home or from a nearby hub (New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles or Seattle) and attend in‑person planning sessions.
