Android Engineer – Build Investment App

About the role

Wealthfront is seeking an Android Engineer to help design and develop new investment and cash account features for its native Android application. You will work within a cross‑functional scrum team, writing production‑grade code, automated tests, and integrating with design systems and backend APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Build and enhance a premier native Android app focused on investment services.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver new features.
• Write unit tests and ensure code is testable and maintainable.
• Design, build, and test reusable REST APIs.
• Optimize app performance using Android SDK tools and best‑practice techniques.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers.

Required profile

• 2–6 years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, unblock yourself, and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with Android SDK and performance optimization tools.
• Ability to write unit tests and produce testable code.
• Knowledge of REST API design and integration.
• Familiarity with Material Design principles.
