Analyst/Associate – Early‑Stage Venture Investment

About the role

Equal Ventures is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join its New York City office. You will work closely with the partnership to shape investment theses, source early‑stage deals, and support portfolio companies from seed through scale. The role combines deal execution, ecosystem engagement, and internal firm initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively source high‑quality early‑stage opportunities through founder relationships, ecosystem events, and outbound outreach.
• Conduct investment diligence, including market analysis, customer and expert interviews, and write conviction‑driven memos.
• Support portfolio companies on operations, hiring, go‑to‑market strategy, fundraising, and partnership development.
• Build Equal’s brand by creating content, hosting/attending events, and expanding relationships with key ecosystem influencers.
• Contribute to firm operations by owning workstreams that help level‑up the organization.

Required profile

• 1‑4 years of relevant experience in venture capital, growth equity, private equity, consulting, banking, or a high‑impact operating role.
• Background working with technology companies or within the firm’s target verticals.
• Demonstrated hustle, professionalism, self‑direction, teamwork, curiosity, strong network, and high integrity.
