Aircraft Egress Specialist

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Senior Egress Specialist who performs aircraft egress system repair and maintenance on cockpit egress components. The role works under the Egress Shop Leadman and covers inspection, repair, testing and troubleshooting of egress, canopy fracturing and emergency oxygen systems, as well as canopy rigging and fitting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Egress Shop Leadman in egress team concept maintenance.
• Maintain aircraft egress systems including ejection seats, canopies and hatches, explosive components, electro-explosive devices (EED), subsystems and related support equipment.
• Inspect, repair, modify and remove or replace time-change components, seats and canopies.
• Operate ground support equipment and enter data into computerized maintenance record systems.
• Keep constant awareness of egress system safety and complete the required forms.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid REAL ID driver's license obtained and maintained within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain site access (U.S. citizens must obtain it).
• Completed the Air Force "Aircrew Egress Systems Apprentice Course" or an intra-service equivalent (DD 214 or employment record).
• Meets the physical requirements set out in Appendix E of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Required skills

• Experience removing, inspecting, installing, repairing and modifying aircrew egress systems and components.
• Experience performing or supervising maintenance and inspection of egress systems and subsystems.
