Air Operations Specialist – Import Logistics

About the role

The Air Operations Specialist (Air Import Agent) coordinates international air freight imports, ensuring cargo moves efficiently from arrival to final delivery while meeting all customs, airline, and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and coordinate air import shipments from arrival through final delivery.
• Prepare, review, and process import documents such as Air Waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
• Communicate shipment status with airlines, ground handlers, customs brokers, trucking companies, and customers.
• Arrange cargo release, customs clearance, and inland transportation.
• Track shipments, provide proactive updates, and resolve delays, damages, or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate data entry in transportation management systems and keep detailed shipment records.
• Manage billing, invoicing, and cost control for import shipments.
• Support customers with quotes, inquiries, and service solutions.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or air cargo operations is preferred.
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs, TSA, and IATA regulations.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment handling multiple shipments.
