AI Product Manager

About the role

Shiftwise, a healthcare workforce management company whose Vendor Management System (VMS) helps hospitals and health systems streamline contingent staffing, is hiring an AI Product Manager. The role leads the strategy, definition and execution of AI-powered features that help healthcare organizations manage their contingent workforce. It is remote or hybrid based in Dallas.

Key responsibilities

• Own the AI product strategy by identifying opportunities where AI/ML creates value for customers, from workforce forecasting to smarter workflows.
• Shape features end-to-end, translating AI concepts into intuitive user experiences and partnering with design and engineering.
• Actively use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude and Bard in daily work for research, writing and decision support.
• Collaborate with data science, engineering, customer success and clinical experts to define requirements, validate use cases and ensure ethical AI practices.
• Run discovery with healthcare administrators, staffing agencies and clinicians to uncover problems AI can solve.
• Define success metrics, run experiments and measure adoption and impact of AI features.
• Educate internal teams and customers about how AI shapes the product roadmap.
• Evaluate market trends and competitors, set timelines and define features, and deliver an operating plan covering growth objectives, market share, revenue, profit and ROI.
• Develop product briefs with acceptance criteria, track sprint progress and stay current on industry trends.

Required profile

• 4-7+ years in product management (SaaS or enterprise preferred).
• At least 1 year building or managing AI-powered features.
• Hands-on experience using AI/ML in daily product workflows (prompt engineering, prototyping with LLMs, data analysis).
• Proven ability to gather insights, run discovery and turn needs into solutions.
• Strong communication skills.
• Healthcare or workforce management experience is a plus but not required.

Work is done in an office or home office; candidates must be able to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. AMN Healthcare provides reasonable accommodations. The pay is $113,500-$134,500 depending on experience, training, education and location.
