AI Automation Engineer

About the role

A US-based company that builds SaaS and BPaaS solutions for health plans is hiring an AI Automation Engineer. The role identifies, designs, builds and deploys AI agents and automations for operational teams, turning real business workflows into working solutions rather than just chatbots. It is a hands-on position working closely with end users, and the candidate must be willing to work according to US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze operational workflows with business teams and subject matter experts to find automation and AI opportunities.
• Design, build and deploy AI agents and automated workflows using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate and the Microsoft AI ecosystem.
• Integrate systems via APIs and orchestrate workflows across multiple platforms and data sources.
• Rapidly prototype solutions and iterate with end users based on their feedback.
• Translate business requirements into production-ready automations that meet enterprise data, security and governance standards.
• Test, monitor and maintain deployed solutions, document workflows and technical designs, and support adoption and training.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and deploying automations and AI agents in a production environment.
• Ability to turn real business workflows into working solutions, beyond basic chatbots.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and iteration with end users.
• Understanding of enterprise data, security and governance.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work according to US business hours.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate and the Microsoft AI ecosystem.
• API integration and workflow orchestration.
• Plus: healthcare experience, preferably in the payer or health insurance industry, and knowledge of Medicare and/or Medicaid processes.
• Plus: familiarity with claims, enrollment, provider management or authorization workflows, SQL querying and data analysis, and supporting software implementations.
