AI and Data Science Engineer III

About the role

Deloitte's AI & Engineering team is hiring an AI and Data Science Engineer III in New York to join the AI & Data team within the Government & Public Services practice. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver AI-enabled products and data solutions that help clients use data, machine learning and artificial intelligence to address complex business challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions for business and client use cases.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines, model-training workflows and production-grade application components.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to identify patterns, generate insights and support model development and validation.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, product stakeholders and business teams to turn requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor model and application performance, troubleshoot issues and implement improvements in accuracy, reliability and scalability.
• Lead project teams and client-facing workstreams in delivering AI and data science solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or another quantitative field.
• 4+ years of professional experience designing, developing, deploying or supporting machine learning, AI or advanced analytics solutions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Able to travel 20% on average.
• Preferred: Master's degree, 2+ years deploying ML models in production, 2+ years with large language models, NLP or generative AI, 2+ years with containerization/orchestration tools, and 1+ year supporting model monitoring, governance or MLOps.

Required skills

• Programming in Python, PySpark, PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Active certification in Python, PySpark, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Preferred: Docker or Kubernetes, and experience with model monitoring, governance and MLOps.

The stated wage range is $131,000 to $218,300, and employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program. Deloitte offers professional development, mentorship and a broad range of employee benefits.
