After-school Nanny and Household Manager

About the role

We are seeking a reliable, proactive individual to provide after‑school childcare and household management for a busy family of five in Portland, OR. The role is part‑time, Monday‑Thursday, focusing on afternoons and early evenings.

Key responsibilities

• Pick up children from school and transport them to activities, ensuring safety and punctuality.
• Engage children in creative, screen‑free play, help with homework, and prepare backpacks, snacks, and clothing.
• Maintain household organization: daily tidying, light cleaning, changing batteries, and preparing the home for professional cleaners.
• Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks, handle grocery shopping, and manage kitchen cleanup.
• Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies; manage orders, subscriptions, and returns.
• Handle laundry, linen organization, and occasional deep‑cleaning tasks such as fridge or washer/dryer cleaning.

Required profile

• Experience caring for multiple young children and confidence in age‑appropriate activities.
• Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and ability to navigate a split‑level home.
• Preference for candidates living within 20‑30 minutes of NW Portland.
• Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and take initiative without constant direction.
• COVID‑19 and flu vaccinations preferred; must be authorized to work in the United States.
