Advanced Practice Provider – Infectious Disease (Full‑Time, Acute Care)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Medicine, Infectious Disease seeks a full‑time Advanced Practice Provider to deliver medical care to a diverse patient population in an acute care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive physical examinations and health histories.
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic and therapeutic tests appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments and implement interventions to maintain physiologic stability.
• Facilitate patient transitions, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida APRN or PA license.
• Acute Care certification; BLS and ACLS certifications.
• No prior experience required; strong learning agility and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Acute Care certification for APRNs.
