Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services, Adult Protective Services is seeking a Case Manager 2 to serve Calhoun and surrounding counties. This position protects vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation while promoting self‑sufficiency. The role involves on‑site work with occasional telework options.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial investigations of protective service reports and determine appropriate intervention.
• Evaluate client risk levels and take actions to ensure safety.
• Provide follow‑up, consultations, and resources to stabilize situations and prevent recurrence.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes as a last resort for incapacitated adults.
• Maintain required documentation and complete reports promptly.
• Stay current on policies, laws, trends, and attend training sessions.
• Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of experience at lower‑level Adult Protective Services CM 1 (SSP170) or equivalent.
