Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Aging Services (DAS), Adult Protective Services (APS) is seeking candidates for the position of Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2. This role is based in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia and serves the counties of Richmond, Burke, Jenkins, and Screven.

Key responsibilities

• Perform initial investigations of protective service reports that meet APS criteria and determine appropriate intervention promptly.
• Evaluate client risk levels and take actions to ensure safety.
• Provide follow‑up, consultations, and resources to stabilize situations and prevent further abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes as a last resort for protecting incapacitated adults.
• Maintain required documentation and complete reports within established timeframes.
• Stay current on policies, laws, trends, and developments through training and meetings.
• Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• One (1) year of experience at lower‑level Adult Protective Services Case Manager 1 (SSP170) or an equivalent position.
