Housekeeper 2 – State Facility Position

About the role

Join the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities and help maintain a safe, clean environment for staff and visitors. This full‑time, day‑shift position supports the daily operations of state facilities across Augusta.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain order, sanitation and cleanliness in assigned facilities.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste removal.
• Restock and manage cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisory staff.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and deep‑cleaning assignments as directed.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in housekeeping, janitorial work, or a related field.
• Or one year of experience in the lower‑level Housekeeper 1 (FES040) position or an equivalent role.
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to work independently under general supervision.
