Adult Protective Services Case Manager 2

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking an Adult Protective Services (APS) Case Manager 2 to serve Valdosta and surrounding counties. The role involves investigating reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults and ensuring their safety.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial investigations of APS reports and determine need for intervention.
• Assess risk levels and take appropriate actions to protect clients.
• Provide follow‑up services, referrals, and resources to stabilize situations.
• Initiate legal guardianship processes when necessary as a last resort.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit timely reports.
• Stay current on policies, laws, and best practices through training and meetings.

Required profile

• Knowledge of adult protective services regulations and procedures.
• Ability to evaluate risk and make prompt decisions.
• Strong written documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel within assigned counties.
