Child Welfare Services Technician 1

About the role

The Georgia Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Welfare Services Technician 1 to join its Division of Family & Children Services in Valdosta. Under direct supervision, you will provide paraprofessional social services to children, families, and other clients, helping them navigate community resources and case management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews with clients, families, or reporters and document case histories.
• Maintain regular contact with partner agencies, health‑care providers, and other service organizations to exchange updates on client progress.
• Screen clients for case history, locate relatives, and gather relevant background information.
• Assist clients in accessing legal, medical, financial, and other community resources.
• Organize client records, upload data and documents, generate reports, and compile statistical information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in a social‑services‑related position.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse populations.
• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping and data entry.
