Adult ABE/ASE Instructor

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Adult ABE/ASE Instructor to join the Adult Education Division of the State of Georgia. The role involves delivering high‑school equivalency instruction to adult learners across a range of subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction in mathematics, reading comprehension, English grammar and writing, social studies and science.
• Deliver lessons both in‑person and via virtual platforms, adapting to varied learning styles.
• Maintain a flexible schedule that includes evenings and occasional Saturdays.
• Work primarily at the Alpharetta North‑Fulton campus with occasional duties on the Lawrenceville campus.
• Report to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for High School Equivalency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (minimum).
• Two years of teaching experience in a classroom setting, in‑person or virtual.
• Strong customer‑service orientation, multitasking, critical‑thinking and communication abilities.
• Ability to complete detailed paperwork and interact courteously with students and the public.
• Sensitivity to diverse cultures and different learning styles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using instructional software and virtual teaching platforms.
