Adjunct Lecturer & Spring 2028 Artist in Residence

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock invites an accomplished artist to join the School of Art and Design as an Adjunct Lecturer and Spring 2028 Artist in Residence. This fixed‑term position provides studio space, teaching opportunities, and community engagement within the Windgate Center of Art + Design.

Key responsibilities

• Create new artwork in the provided studio or shared spaces during the spring 2028 semester.
• Maintain weekly open studio hours for student interaction.
• Conduct studio visits to student workspaces and provide feedback.
• Participate in in‑class activities coordinated by faculty.
• Attend welcome and farewell receptions for the university community.
• Donate one artwork to the UA Little Rock Art Collection.

Required profile

• Demonstrated professional practice as a visual artist.
• Experience teaching or mentoring art students in a studio environment.
• Ability to engage with a diverse university community.
• Commitment to completing the residency duties within the spring 2028 term.

Required skills

• Studio art production (painting, sculpture, mixed media, or related disciplines).
• Effective communication for studio critiques and classroom activities.
