Adjunct Faculty – Political Science (Part‑time)

About the role

Gwinnett Technical College is seeking a part‑time Adjunct Faculty member to teach Political Science courses on its Lawrenceville and/or Alpharetta campuses. The position reports to the Program Director of History / Political Science and involves delivering classroom instruction, evaluating student progress, and supporting the college’s academic mission.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instruction in classroom or online environments.
• Evaluate students’ progress toward learning objectives.
• Maintain regular communication with students.
• Administer the Blackboard Ultra learning management system and any required third‑party software.
• Prepare and maintain documentation and administrative reports.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Political Science, or a Master’s with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience is preferred.
• Ability to provide in‑person instruction at Lawrenceville and/or Alpharetta campuses on scheduled days.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Blackboard Ultra (LMS).
• Ability to operate and support additional third‑party software platforms used for instruction.
