Adjunct Faculty – History (Part‑time)

About the role

This part‑time, non‑benefited, FLSA‑exempt adjunct faculty position in the General Education Division reports to the Program Director of History/Political Science. The role involves delivering history instruction on the Lawrenceville and Alpharetta campuses and is compensated on a lump‑sum basis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver classroom or online instruction for general core history courses.
• Evaluate student progress toward learning objectives.
• Maintain regular communication with students.
• Administer Blackboard Ultra and any required third‑party software platforms.
• Prepare and maintain documentation and administrative reports.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• Accept direction and feedback from supervisor and follow through appropriately.
• Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill the needs and philosophy of Gwinnett Technical College.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in History, or a Master’s with 18 graduate hours in History.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience is preferred.
• Ability to provide in‑person instruction at Lawrenceville and/or Alpharetta locations.
