Adjunct Faculty – Criminal Justice

About the role

The Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach undergraduate courses on a fixed‑term basis. This part‑time position involves delivering engaging classroom instruction, developing course materials, and supporting student learning on a day‑shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned Criminal Justice courses, delivering lectures, discussions, and experiential activities.
• Prepare and update syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional resources.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and projects, and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain office hours to advise and mentor students.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners in a higher‑education setting.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.
