Adjunct Faculty - BS/MS Social Work

About the role

Abilene Christian University is hiring an adjunct faculty member to teach the BS/MS Social Work program in an online classroom setting. Qualified applicants must be professing Christians and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the university.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction, direction and support to students online, with timely, constructive feedback on their work.
• Answer student questions about course material and academics, and run periodic synchronous interaction sessions depending on course needs.
• Grade assignments and enter final grades after consulting the lead faculty and/or program director.
• Alert the lead faculty and program director to student issues such as poor performance or policy violations like plagiarism.
• Take part in planning, development and implementation of the program and curriculum, and give feedback to the program director.
• Attend faculty trainings, meetings and complete required credentialing and records updates.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited or internationally recognized program.
• At least two years of post-MSSW practice experience if teaching practice courses; licensure highly preferred.
• Practice or professional experience or general expertise in the content of the assigned course.
• Minimum of two years of university teaching preferred; online teaching experience preferred.
• Proficiency in APA style and computer proficiency with internet-based applications.

• Working well under pressure and managing stress.
• Required modules: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Google Calendar, Mail, Sheets and Docs, Canvas and Bridge.
