Accounting Manager – Rebates & Incentives

About the role

The Rebates and Incentives (R&I) Manager of Accounting within Mastercard's Corporate Controllers group provides advisory and liaison support across regional controllership, shared services, and external auditors. This role ensures R&I policies are applied correctly, maintains a strong internal control environment, and drives process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee global R&I processes, resolve issues, and manage relationships with regions, business units, and the accounting shared service center.
• Provide ongoing support and accounting guidance for R&I transactions to regional controllership and shared services.
• Conduct accounting research on new and non‑routine transactions to determine US GAAP treatment.
• Prepare quarterly deliverables, lead pre‑close meetings, and ensure SEC compliance of reporting.
• Identify efficiencies, automation opportunities, and standardize R&I processes for sustainable growth.
• Oversee compliance with Mastercard policies, SOX, and Operational Risk Management, communicating exposures promptly.
• Interact with external auditors on US GAAP application for R&I related disclosures.
