Accounting Manager

About the role

Cerebras Systems, which builds the world's largest AI chip, is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting team. The role manages and maintains general ledger accounting operations and ensures accurate, timely financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close globally under US GAAP, including journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis for cash, prepaids, accruals, inter-company and OPEX accounts.
• Develop and implement the accounting strategy and framework for new international entities, and standardize accounting policies, procedures and reporting across global operations.
• Manage relationships with external accounting service providers and internal stakeholders, and support external reporting with cash flow reconciliations and financial statement footnotes and disclosures.
• Support quarterly, annual and interim external audits, including audit schedules and responses to auditor requests.
• Support the Assistant Controller and Senior Accounting Manager with day-to-day financial activities such as chart of accounts maintenance, foreign subsidiaries and intercompany accounting.
• Maintain internal controls over general ledger records, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• File state sales and use taxes quarterly, semi-annually or annually for California and other states using Avalara.
• Work with other departments to keep accounting information accurate and timely, and take on ad hoc projects as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field (required).
• CPA certification preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; 2+ years in a public company with consolidation and multi-entity reporting preferred.
• Understanding of internal controls and auditing processes.

Required skills

• ERP systems proficiency, such as NetSuite.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and large data sets.
• Problem-solving with large volumes of data and strong cross-functional communication.
