Account Supervisor – Media Relations

About the role

RH Strategic is seeking an Account Supervisor, Media Relations to join its Seattle office. The senior advisor will work with technology and education clients, shaping policy and business outcomes through earned media. The role requires a deep network of national and policy‑focused journalists and the ability to turn complex topics into compelling stories.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute earned‑media strategies that advance client business, policy and reputation goals.
• Develop fresh story angles and secure top‑tier placements across print, digital and broadcast platforms.
• Build and maintain relationships with reporters, editors and producers, while mentoring junior team members.
• Provide strategic counsel on media positioning, spokesperson readiness and stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee creation of media‑facing materials, ensure consistency and quality, and manage issues, reputational and crisis communications.
• Measure impact of media efforts and refine strategies based on insights.

Required profile

• 6+ years leading earned‑media programs with a proven record of national coverage.
• Recent agency experience advising multiple technology or education clients.
• Established relationships with key national and policy‑focused media outlets.
• Strong leadership, team‑management and mentorship abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with sound judgment on sensitive issues.
• Experience navigating reputational, issues‑management and crisis situations.
