Account Manager - Commercial Insurance (Construction & Contractors)

About the role

We are seeking an Account Manager to oversee a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts focused on construction, contractors, and habitational clients. You will be responsible for retaining existing business, supporting new business acquisition, and coordinating day‑to‑day administrative and customer‑service activities while resolving complex issues.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
• Lead the daily activities of the account management team.
• Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
• Manage policy expirations, renewals, and the renewal submission process.
• Monitor accounts receivable, collect delinquent balances, and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms with accurate data.
• Track activity and suspense items to guarantee timely completion.
• Communicate transparently with the account team regarding workload and issues.
• Deliver proactive, high‑quality service and anticipate client needs.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry.
• Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
• Active property & casualty (P&C) license; professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Exceptional customer‑service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with agency management systems.
• Familiarity with carrier and vendor platforms.
