Academic Success Coach I

About the role

The Academic Success Coach I works under the Academic Coaching Program Coordinator to support undergraduate students who are conditionally admitted or on academic probation. The coach connects students with resources, monitors progress, and contributes to the university’s retention and success initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group academic guidance, maintain a caseload, and refer students to time‑management, test‑preparation, and study‑skill services.
• Assist with project implementation, respond to student inquiries, and interpret university policies.
• Maintain student records, administer assessment inventories, and manage progress reports and contracts.
• Collaborate with staff, participate in recruitment and engagement events, and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience working with at‑risk or probationary students.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with student information systems such as Navigate, Banner, DegreeWorks, and Argos.
