Academic Hospitalist – Brooklyn

About the role

NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn is expanding its academic hospitalist group. The position offers a dynamic environment where hospitalists rotate through house staff, nurse practitioner teams, dedicated hospitalist services, and consultative medicine blocks, supporting a closed ICU and a diverse, underserved Brooklyn community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality inpatient care across multiple clinical blocks, including ICU, hospitalist service, and consultative medicine.
• Collaborate with house staff, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care.
• Participate in teaching and mentorship activities for residents and medical students.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and academic research within the health system.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Experience in hospitalist medicine, preferably in an academic setting.
• Commitment to serving diverse and underserved patient populations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in inpatient medicine and critical care.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Ability to teach and supervise medical trainees.
