5th Grade Teacher – Full‑time Christian School

About the role

Awaken Christian Academy is seeking a passionate full‑time 5th Grade Teacher to join its Christ‑centered community in Las Vegas. The teacher will be the primary instructor and caregiver, fostering academic growth and spiritual development in a supportive, prayer‑filled environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and enforce classroom behavior rules and maintain order.
• Observe, evaluate, and record students’ academic performance, behavior, social development, and health.
• Prepare materials and adapt instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Plan and deliver balanced lessons using lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and group work.
• Set clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects and communicate them to students.
• Assign, grade, and provide feedback on classwork and homework weekly.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding progress and address any concerns.
• Maintain accurate student records in compliance with laws and district policies.
• Provide accommodations for students with 504 plans as directed.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
• BA/BS or higher in Education or a related field.
• Statewide certification as an educator (or ACSI certification).
• Commitment to modeling Christian beliefs and values on and off the job.
• Ability to create a nurturing, disciplined, and prayerful classroom environment.
