About the role
Sequoia is seeking a 401k Compliance Client Service Manager to own client relationships and ensure retirement plan compliance for key accounts. The role splits focus between client service and compliance management, supporting both strategic analysis and regulatory adherence.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and nurture relationships with decision‑makers and administrators across key accounts.
- Guide strategic analysis of retirement plans to meet client goals and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with MEP vendors and third‑party providers to deliver seamless service.
- Lead 401(k) participant education sessions to promote financial wellness.
- Execute and validate annual compliance testing (e.g., ADP/ACP, top‑heavy coverage).
- Maintain plan documents, monitor ERISA/IRS/DOL compliance, and support audit preparation.
Required profile
- QKA certification required or actively pursued.
- 3+ years of experience in 401(k) plan administration, preferably within a MEP structure.
- Strong knowledge of plan document creation, maintenance, and regulatory reporting.
- Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them practically.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
