About the role

Monroe Preparatory Academy is seeking a passionate 1st Grade Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. The teacher will create a vibrant, supportive classroom that fosters academic growth and social‑emotional development for all students.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, adapting instruction as needed throughout the year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of every student.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
• Apply research‑based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
• Integrate technology to support instruction and student engagement.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social‑emotional growth.
• Participate in non‑instructional activities and collaborate with colleagues.

Required profile

• Active Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations and feedback.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and supervise students in various settings.
• Clear background check eligibility.
• Experience in an urban school environment is preferred.
