Workforce Education Instructor – Diesel Technology

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks a full‑time Workforce Education Instructor to teach diesel technology courses. The instructor will deliver state‑approved curricula, develop lab activities, and support student success in a hands‑on learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach diesel technology courses using diverse instructional methods and teaching aids.
• Design and implement laboratory exercises and instructional materials.
• Maintain accurate program and student records.
• Assist with student recruitment, placement, and follow‑up activities.
• Participate in professional development and departmental initiatives.
• Perform evening or summer teaching duties as needed.

Required profile

• Experienced diesel mechanic or technician.
• Either a baccalaureate‑equivalent education with 2 years diesel experience, or a high school diploma with 5 years diesel experience (including at least 1 year advanced training), or a high school diploma with 6 years diesel experience.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Demonstrated ability to teach technical content and manage lab environments.
