Welder III – $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

About the role

The Welder III supports marine and shipboard operations for Oceaneering’s Marine Services Division in Chesapeake, VA. This position requires advanced welding expertise, technical judgment, and the ability to work safely in high‑consequence environments. Overtime and up to 75% travel may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced TIG (GTAW), Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), and Flux‑Cored (FCAW) welding.
• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
• Fabricate and repair structural and piping components.
• Select appropriate materials, joint configurations, and welding parameters.
• Weld in confined spaces and elevated positions while meeting visual, dimensional, and UT/RT inspection requirements.
• Maintain safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior welders.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED.
• Minimum five years of industrial welding experience, preferably in shipbuilding.
• U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required welding certifications.
