Virtual Medical Assistant

About the role

Health & Virtuals is seeking a Remote Virtual Medical Assistant to support healthcare practices across the United States. The role works behind the scenes to keep clinical and administrative workflows organized, accurate, and ready for each patient visit.

Key responsibilities

• Upload, organize, and maintain patient records, including labs, referrals, intake forms, and supporting documents.
• Label and categorize documentation for easy retrieval and prepare charts ahead of scheduled visits.
• Monitor task queues within the EHR, complete assigned documentation workflows, and track pending items such as referrals, labs, and follow‑ups.
• Route tasks appropriately to maintain continuity across teams and ensure handoffs are clean and timely.
• Communicate with providers and internal teams to resolve missing or incomplete documentation.
• Use structured workflows and trackers to manage multiple administrative tasks simultaneously.

Required profile

• Comfortable working within EHR or similar digital systems.
• Strong documentation handling and record‑management ability.
• Understanding of structured workflows, task tracking, and HIPAA confidentiality standards.
• Highly detail‑oriented, organized, and reliable with strong follow‑through.
• Able to work independently and communicate clearly with internal teams.
