Vice President, Tax Operations

About the role

This senior leadership position oversees Deutsche Bank’s global tax operations, ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, driving process efficiencies, and guiding technology adoption. The VP partners with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and regulators to manage compliance, reporting, and risk.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as subject‑matter expert for operational tax processes, including withholding tax, IRS filings (1099, 1042‑S, 1099‑B, state filings), cost basis, and specific forms such as 1446(f) and 871m.
• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate closely with senior business, technology, operations, client, risk, and Group Tax teams.
• Monitor regulatory changes, interpret new tax rules, and communicate impacts to relevant parties.
• Maintain risk and control indicators, escalating emerging issues to senior management.
• Review and redesign team processes for cost savings and efficiency, partnering with technology teams on automation and remediation projects.
• Lead the tax operations team, develop policies, procedures, and controls, and provide expertise on withholding tax, FATCA/CRS, and transaction taxes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation or a related field.
• Extensive experience in tax operations and compliance within financial services or large corporations.
• Strong analytical abilities and deep regulatory tax knowledge.
• Proven stakeholder‑management skills across senior business functions.
