Vascular Clinic Sonographer – Full Time

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Vascular Clinic Sonographer to provide individualized, direct patient care by performing peripheral vascular studies, including Ankle‑Brachial Index (ABI), duplex scans, and various ultrasounds. You will join Ochsner Southern Vascular Clinic, contributing to high‑quality imaging and patient education in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, instruct, and educate patients on vascular imaging procedures.
• Perform diagnostic studies such as ABI, upper/lower extremity venous/arterial duplex, carotid, abdominal aorta, MI and renal ultrasounds.
• Maintain accurate documentation, exam rooms, and equipment in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Assess situations and act appropriately during emergencies or urgent cases.
• Participate in professional development and keep clinical knowledge and credentials current.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; 2 years of peripheral vascular experience preferred.
• Active registration as a Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) through ARDMS or CCI.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, OSHA, ICAVL guidelines and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Required skills

• Peripheral vascular ultrasound, including ABI measurement and duplex scanning.
• Carotid, abdominal aorta, and renal ultrasound imaging.
• Computer and software proficiency for imaging documentation.
• Active RVT/RVS registration and BLS certification.
