University School Bus Driver (Part‑time)

About the role

The University School Bus Driver will safely transport University School students to and from field trips and events using the assigned vehicle. This is a part‑time position operating passenger buses or a 15‑passenger van.

Key responsibilities

• Drive students to and from assigned events in a timely and safe manner.
• Communicate professionally with school staff, students, and parents.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance such as changing a flat tire, jump‑starting a battery, or replacing wiper blades.
• Follow navigation equipment and conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting the bus.
• Record and report mileage after each trip.
• Observe all traffic laws and attend safety meetings as required.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of bus driving or similar experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 25 years.
• Class C CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Pass background check and drug test.
• Good vision (near, far, color, depth perception, peripheral).
• Ability to drive in inclement weather and during early or late hours.

Required skills

• Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Capability to perform minor vehicle maintenance (e.g., tire change, jump‑start).
