About the role
The Department of the Navy is seeking a Training Specialist to develop and maintain technical and doctrinal instructional materials for high‑risk programs. The role involves reviewing contractor lesson plans, supporting Master Training Specialists, and ensuring compliance with training safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, revise, and evaluate instructional materials using the ADDIE model for high‑risk training programs.
- Review contractor lesson plans, trainee guides, and instructional media, providing feedback on identified issues.
- Support Master Training Specialists (MTS) by conducting evaluations, administering exams, and participating in MTS boards.
- Track and document high‑risk pre‑certifications and certifications.
- Provide support for High Risk Training Safety (HRTS) inspections.
- Travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites, including remote or isolated locations, as required.
Required profile
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for federal employment, including security clearance.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑09 level, demonstrating instructional design, training development, and high‑risk training safety support.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an interim or final security clearance.
- Willingness to travel extensively on military and commercial aircraft.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the ADDIE instructional design model.
- Experience conducting High Risk Training Safety (HRTS) inspections.
- Knowledge of Master Training Specialist (MTS) evaluation processes.
