Trailer Mechanic – Full-Time, 2nd Shift

About the role

Trailer A Mechanic – $26.45‑$37.60 per hour, full‑time, Monday‑Friday 2nd shift (3:00 pm‑1:30 am). The role includes diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a fleet of trailers at our Colonial Heights service center.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic procedures and complete repairs on trailer systems.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and safety inspections in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
• Test equipment to verify proper performance and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
• Document work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Required profile

• Experience performing safety inspections and preparing required FMCSA documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service bulletins.
• Proven experience repairing or replacing defective trailer components.
• Physical ability to lift at least 50 lb and work in varying climate conditions.
• Own set of tools and dependable work ethic.

Required skills

• Use of Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• Welding and sheet‑metal/composite panel repair.
• Operating yard tractors and moving trailers.
• Testing and calibrating trailer equipment.
