Trail Manager (Freelance)

About the role

Fever, a tech platform for culture and live entertainment, is hiring a freelance Trail Manager for an event in New York. The role reports to the Site Manager during the install process and helps manage the technical, logistical and site-related aspects of the event. After opening, the Trail Manager maintains the physical trail and event space with the Event Management and technical teams. The engagement runs from 10/5/2026 to 1/3/2027, about six days per week, 14:00–23:30 plus meetings and reporting, onsite for install, event run and strike.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site and trail management during the event, keeping the trail safe and ready for guests each night
• Run a daily pre-show and post-show checklist with the Event Manager and Event Supervisor
• Coordinate with technical departments (lighting, audio, video, power, props, local labour, security) to keep the event running
• Follow safety procedures, check that crew are properly certified and implement the Event Safety Management Plan
• Help manage incidents and unplanned works, and control the site in adverse weather
• Ensure shift patterns run smoothly and breaks are taken

Required profile

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a related industry
• Experience with large outdoor festivals, illumination trails or outdoor experiential events is preferred
• Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure and in a constantly changing environment
• Visa or permit to work in the event country, or citizenship/residency permitting work
• Professional appearance and demeanor

Required skills

• Google Drive and the Google suite (Sheets, Word, Google Meet)
• First-aid certification is a plus
