Terminal Manager – Service Center Operations

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Terminal Manager at our Reno, Nevada Service Center to plan, organize, manage, and direct all service center operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all financial aspects of the service center, including revenue attainment, cost control, and yield improvement.
• Recommend and initiate personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
• Lead, educate and develop employees while assisting account managers in customer acquisition and retention.
• Prepare and implement action plans to achieve productivity and service goals.
• Oversee safety, security, and loss‑prevention procedures in compliance with Company, OSHA, and DOT guidelines.
• Maintain clean and safe working conditions for the facility and equipment.
• Submit financial and operational reports and enforce Service Center Work Instructions and Company policies.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of LTL industry, DOT rules, OSHA laws, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and tariff rules (preferred).
• Strong organizational, logistical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of quality freight handling techniques (preferred).
• Familiarity with the Reno area and surrounding communities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
