Temporary Assistant Child Care Teacher at Georgetown Law Early Learning Center

About the role

The Georgetown Law Early Learning Center is seeking a Temporary Assistant Child Care Teacher to support its mission of providing high‑quality early education for the children of faculty, staff, and students. In this role you will help create a nurturing, responsive, and engaging learning environment on the Georgetown Law campus, just a few blocks from the U.S. Capitol.

Key responsibilities

• Implement developmentally‑appropriate educational activities and nurturing care for young children.
• Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment.
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate effectively about children’s progress.
• Collaborate with the Georgetown Law Early Learning Center team and follow guidance from the Director.
• Ensure compliance with Georgetown policies, OSSE regulations, and all licensing requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, OR an associate degree (or higher) in any field, OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with at least 60 credit hours, OR a state‑approved certificate comparable to a CDA.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and use a wide range of motion for child care tasks.
• Successful completion of criminal background check, child protection registry clearance, and drug/alcohol testing as required by OSSE and Georgetown University.
