Technology & Innovation Teacher

About the role

The Technology & Innovation Teacher joins Sinai Akiba Academy to deliver a robust J‑STEAM program across early childhood through eighth grade. Working closely with the Technology & Innovation Curriculum Coordinator, the teacher leads design‑ and project‑based learning in the Innovation Lab and classroom settings.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and teach middle‑school J‑STEAM electives such as robotics, coding, and drones.
• Deliver K‑5 J‑STEAM curriculum, introducing basic coding concepts to young learners.
• Collaborate with the curriculum coordinator to integrate educational technology school‑wide and align lessons with ISTE standards.
• Guide students in safe handling, use, and care of all technology equipment.
• Assess academic and social‑emotional progress, maintaining attendance, checklists, and other records.
• Maintain secure storage of materials, tools, and equipment.

Required profile

• Experience teaching technology‑focused electives to middle‑school students.
• Ability to teach basic coding and STEAM concepts to K‑5 learners.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with teachers and curriculum leaders.
• Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and innovative learning environment.
