Technical Consultant for IT Strategy Implementation

About the role

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund – Office of Investment Management is seeking a Technical Consultant to lead the implementation of its IT Strategy. You will translate strategic objectives into a concrete, prioritized roadmap and ensure the delivery of high‑value technology initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Refresh and validate the IT Strategy roadmap, defining initiatives, milestones, risks, costs and benefits.
• Establish an intake, assessment and prioritisation framework for new projects and technology requests.
• Create an enterprise‑wide technology landscape and target‑state architecture covering applications, data platforms, integrations, identity, automation, reporting, infrastructure and security.
• Set up programme governance, including steering committees, RAID logs, escalation paths and benefits‑tracking mechanisms.
• Develop a cross‑functional workflow‑automation framework and define design standards for automated processes.
• Produce detailed delivery plans for priority initiatives, outlining scope, outcomes, dependencies and resourcing.
• Drive execution of roadmap initiatives, manage vendor coordination, resolve issues and ensure timely escalation.
• Launch high‑value workflow‑improvement pilots using approved enterprise platforms.
• Implement architecture and design assurance gates and a portfolio performance dashboard.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IT strategy consulting or enterprise architecture within large, complex organisations.
• Strong ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions and manage multi‑disciplinary programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
