Tax Manager / Senior Manager – Core Tax Services

About the role

Perkins is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join its Core Tax Services practice, which serves closely held family groups and individual owners. The role blends generalist tax knowledge with a focus on flow‑through entities and their impact on personal returns (Form 1040).

Key responsibilities

• Lead tax engagements for family‑owned businesses, ensuring compliance and strategic planning.
• Prepare and review tax returns for flow‑through entities and related individual filings.
• Collaborate with audit teams nationwide while maintaining strong local relationships in the Portland or Seattle market.
• Manage charge‑hour targets (approximately 1,350‑1,375 hours annually) and mentor junior staff.
• Support business development initiatives with local business leaders.

Required profile

• CPA or equivalent qualification with several years of public‑accounting tax experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in flow‑through entities and individual tax returns.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
• Willingness to be based in or relocate to Portland or Seattle; relocation assistance available.
