Supply Specialist

About the role

Moog is seeking a Supply Specialist to join its Space and Defense Group in New York. The role supports supplier management, procurement strategy, and execution within a hybrid work environment. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable sources of supply and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new suppliers, manage existing relationships, and resolve sourcing issues using Supplier Business Reviews.
• Support proposal efforts, including supplier selection and negotiation of agreements.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and cost teams to guarantee conforming sources of supply.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Drive supplier engagement, issue RFQs, conduct pricing analysis, and place purchase orders with urgency.
• Research alternative sources and cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Maintain part‑planning parameters aligned with material plans and supplier lead times.
• Handle multiple competing priorities and convert demand signals into purchase orders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of supply‑chain or procurement experience, or an Associate’s degree with at least 5 years.
• Proven experience negotiating with vendors.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements.
• Familiarity with procurement processes, including PO placement and schedule management.
• APICS certification or other relevant supply‑chain certifications preferred.
• Experience leading strategic supply‑chain initiatives is a plus.
