Substitute Bus Driver (Position #2)

About the role

This position provides substitute transportation services for students, ensuring safe and punctual travel to schools, field trips, and other authorized locations. The driver operates within designated routes, follows all safety regulations, and maintains a clean, well‑maintained vehicle.

Key responsibilities

• Obey all traffic laws and school bus safety regulations.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Maintain discipline on the bus and report any incidents.
• Transport only authorized students, loading and securing wheelchairs when required.
• Follow scheduled routes, pick‑up and drop‑off students at authorized stops.
• Complete mileage, passenger count, and accident reports.
• Participate in safety drills, training sessions, and meetings.
• Operate a two‑way radio and perform routine cleaning and fueling of the bus.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license and a bus driver’s license.
• Ability to sit for long periods and perform repetitive hand movements.
• Good visual acuity to notice details while driving.
• Willingness to enforce no‑smoking and no‑eating policies.

Required skills

• Two‑way radio operation.
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance awareness.
